Engineering Services Overview
MCS Kenny has over 27 years experience in designing riser systems and providing advanced engineering solutions to the global oil and gas industry. We are a world leader in compliant riser design with an extensive track record across all riser types and water depths. Our portfolio of design experience includes flexible risers, steel catenary risers, hybrid steel-flexible risers and top tensioned risers for both floating production and floating drilling platforms. Our design capability in risers and advanced engineering is supported by an extensive in-house developed engineering analysis software suite including Flexcom, DeepRiser and PipeLay. Our Engineering Services covers four key service areas, namely: Riser Engineering, Riser Delivery Management Service, Drilling and Well Intervention Risers, and Advanced Subsea Engineering. Each of these service areas are described in turn below.
Riser Engineering
Our riser engineering capability is founded on 27 years experience in the business. Our senior engineers understand how to find the right riser solution for a given floating vessel concept, environmental conditions, water depth and other technical and commercial criteria that might apply. Our capability covers the whole range of potential riser solutions, and our design capability is supported by world leading, in-house developed, industry validated, engineering analysis software. We develop industry codes of practice for riser design and we are continuously involved in technology development which is internally and externally driven. Our external technology development activities are performed by us leading technology projects funded by international oil company participants through joint industry initiatives.
Advanced Subsea Engineering
Here we apply our inherent advanced engineering analysis capabilities to find solutions to a variety of subsea engineering problems. This includes nonlinear finite element analysis of subsea hardware components, stability and buckling analysis of subsea pipelines, and structural analysis and design of various subsea structures. The service also includes static and dynamic analysis of various pipeline and subsea installation scenarios.
Riser Delivery Management Service
Across our organisation internationally we have hired a number of senior engineers and project managers with extensive subsea installation contractor experience, particularly with riser supply and installation. We weave this experience into our overall riser configuration design and analysis capability to offer a comprehensive riser delivery management service to our clients. Essentially, we will manage the specification, supply, installation and commissioning of a riser system on behalf of our oil company client while working as part of the overall project team for the subsea development..
Drilling & Well Intervention Risers
This service applies to drilling risers, and other risers used to intervene on a subsea well such as workover and completion risers. Our service includes riser configuration design, dynamic riser analysis, determination of safe operational envelopes for extreme and fatigue seastate conditions, drift-off and disconnect scenarios and riser recoil analysis. Our objective is to support our clients in enabling them to maximise their riser uptime while operating safely.
