Client Project Project Description
Total Akpo MCS Kenny performed a review and optimisation of the Front End Engineering FPSO mooring system design. For this project, MCS Kenny demonstrated the feasibility of a 12 leg mooring system for the FPSO while the basic design was based on a 16-leg system. During the review both extreme and fatigue analyses were performed and issues such as allowable stress concentration in the top chain were assessed.
BP Greater Plutonio MCS Kenny supported BP on determining suitable mooring systems for the Greater Plutonio project. The scope involved selecting a suitable mooring system for an FPSO & offloading buoy.
BP Offshore Sakhalin Island Evaluation of the survival and operational response characteristics of mooring and drilling riser systems for a Sedco 600 series vessel due to perform drilling operations offshore Sakhalin Island. This evaluation involved optimising the mooring system and establishing the allowable operational response surfaces for wind, wave and current conditions.
Nexan Riser/mooring screening MCS Kenny performed a study for Nexan to screen four hull concepts (mini-TLP, Truss Spar, Cell Spar, deep-draft Semi) for feasible riser & mooring solutions. Both flexible pipe and steel catenary riser (SCR) options was considered. A second deliverable was a technology study of HP (15ksi) riser system to identify proven technology, technology gaps and outline efforts required to confidently “bridge” the technology gaps.
Shell Bonga Field MCS Kenny performed the detailed verification of the off-loading transfer line system for the Bonga field, West of Africa. Detailed verification of the off-loading transfer line system for the Bonga field, West of Africa.  MCS Kenny also performed a review of the FPSO, Offloading Buoy mooring installation procedures, Flying lead and umbilical installation procedures.
