Dr. Patrick O'Brien is Group Director of Strategic Business and Marketing. He has extensive experience primarily in the design of compliant riser systems, and one of his major achievements is the development of the engineering algorithms for the world leading Flexcom software. He is the author of many technical papers and he has chaired many industry conferences on riser technology. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland and a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology.

Kieran Kavanagh is Group Technology Director. Prior to that he was President of MCS Kenny in Houston. He has been responsible for several of our technology projects associated with risers , flexible pipe and integrity management. He has authored over 20 papers and has been a member of the joint API/ISO task groups developing new industry codes of practice.

Frank Grealish is the MCS Kenny Director responsible for our Paris office and has particular focus on West of Africa deepwater developments. He has wide experience in the design of all types of riser systems, including flexibles, hybrid (SLHRs and riser towers), steel catenary risers (SCRs) and top tensioned risers (TTRs). He led the development of API Spec 17J and RP 17B for flexible pipe and he has published numerous papers at leading offshore conferences, such as OTC, DOT and OMAE.

Adrian Connaire is Operations Director at MCS Kenny Galway, having joined the company in 1993. He has wide experience in all aspects of riser and mooring system design, including flexible pipe systems, top tensioned risers , steel catenary risers, drilling risers, umbilicals, and coupled analysis of riser/mooring systems. Past roles have included lead engineer, project manager and consultant on many feasibility and design projects. He has also had responsibility for many Joint Industry Projects which have led to the development of API standards and recommended practices.

Before joining MCS Kenny in 2006, Patrick was Group Director and General Manager of Siebel Systems, which was subsequently acquired by Oracle. He has a wealth of experience in software, having held a variety of roles in international software and IT companies spanning a period of 20 years.

Michael O’Sullivan is Managing Director of MCS Kenny in Aberdeen. A Chartered Mechanical Engineer, he also holds a Masters from MIT. His engineering experience spans a wide range of floating production and riser projects throughout the world, and a number of joint industry projects. His previous roles have included time with General Electric in the US and engineering manager at our Galway office.

He previously worked for J P Kenny in London and Houston. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST). Paul has published over seventy journal and conference papers related to structural engineering and analysis of flowlines and risers. He also teaches at the University of Houston, and is Chairman of US Gulf Coast Branch of IMarEST.

With over 23 years experience in the offshore oil & gas industry, he has worked for Petrobras/E&P in Rio for 15 years, followed by several years in Houston. He has experience in riser and pipeline R&D projects, as well as field development/implementation projects, both as a client and as a service provider. He has published around thirty papers for specialized offshore/subsea conferences.

Conor Galvin is Operations Director at MCS Kenny in Perth. Having joined the company in 2000, he worked in Galway and Houston before moving to Perth in 2008. He has led the design of risers associated with several of the floating production systems in the Gulf of Mexico over the past five years, most notably as lead riser engineer for the Independence Hub project in 8,000ft of water, the world’s deepest steel catenary riser system.

Maureen Lynch is MCS Kenny HR Director, responsible for all aspects of HR globally, and is tasked with implementing world-class best HR practice. She joined the company in 2006 from Hewlett-Packard. Maureen has over 20 years of HR management experience in both Ireland and the USA. She holds a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology, a Diploma in Executive Coaching and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.

Des Higgins, MCS Kenny Financial Controller, joined the company in 1994 after several years working in management consultancy, where he gained experience in the manufacturing, services, trade, retail and not-for-profit sectors. He has established and adapted the financial control systems, and built a finance department to serve the business through a period of rapid growth. He is a graduate of NUIG and a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
